As a Risk, Controls & Regulatory Compliance Senior Manager, reporting to the NGV General Counsel, you'll oversee a team responsible for implementing and advising on risk management, controls, assurance, and compliance strategies aligned with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and relevant frameworks.
As part of the role, you'll enjoy exceptional exposure to the Business Unit leadership team by setting the strategic direction for compliance risk management and providing expert advisory services.
This role can be based from Warwick or London, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. This is a UK based role covering NGV businesses in both the UK and US, therefore regular travel will be required.
Key accountabilities
- Engage with BU leaders to support, guide, and challenge their risk management, risk response, controls design, and assurance activities.
- Advise on risk management for third-party relationships and significant business unit projects.
- Design, implement, and communicate a comprehensive compliance monitoring programme.
- Manage a team to execute BU thematic reviews, risk management deep dives, and periodic risk assessments.
- Develop effective assurance strategies, plans, and objectives, including second line testing.
- Deliver reporting outcomes to relevant BU Executives, CERO, CECO and governance groups.
- Develop and execute education and training programmes for the BU second line risk and controls team.
- Ensure full implementation of Group-level compliance risk management framework and related policies.
About you

- Significant experience in professional risk management field, audit/assurance, Ethics and Compliance or related professional field.
- Experience with the 3 Lines Model and leading Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) projects and teams with Executive reporting responsibilities.
- Utilities or Energy business knowledge and awareness of energy regulations and policy.
- Ability to effectively create, maintain and leverage stakeholder relationships and create sustainable partnerships by being a “go-to” expert in risks and controls and applying this to strategic goals, sharing and leading on best practice and knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with, collaborate with, and present to BU Executives and senior management and maintain mutual agreement.
- Demonstrable commitment to integrity and ethical values.
- Continuous improvement and value adding mentality and ability to offer insightful recommendations that are pragmatic, address root causes, and lead to control/process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or relevant field and/or Postgraduate degree a plus, but not required.
- Professional qualification in risk management, finance or audit from a recognised Institute (e.g., Enterprise Risk Management Certified Professional (ERMCP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Management professional (CRMP), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAS), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CMIIA or CIA)).
What you'll get
A competitive starting salary between £80,000 - £100,000 – dependent on capability.
