About the role

National Grid Ventures (NGV) is looking for a an experienced Change & Transformation professional to join us as a Strategic Planning Manager, helping us align strategies across our teams and turn them into transformation plans. This is a hybrid role which offers working from home, but will involve travelling to either our Warwick or London office.

Working with the global Enterprise Transformation team, NGV Strategy, NGV Finance, the NGV Planning & Performance teams and NGV business you will translate the strategy into a roadmap and underpinning set of implementation plans that deliver the NGV transformation; provide support, coaching, and constructive challenge on initiative prioritisation and development of investments required to deliver the transformation outcomes. You will partner with the NGV senior leadership team to architect the strategy activation plan incorporating key elements such as Evolution, Growth opportunities and Digital.

Key Accountabilities

  • Set strategic objectives and targets for the NGV Transformation in partnership with Finance and the NGV Planning and Performance Team
  • Integrate NGV Transformation initiatives into an aligned and prioritised roadmap
  • Manage and track progress on the strategic transformation portfolio for NGV, including constructive challenge on ambition and delivery confidence
  • Lead on discussion of prioritization and trade-offs in roadmaps
  • Identify current and future state capability builds, incl business architecture
  • Lead the process to set transformation targets and scorecard, track progress and link delivery against specific initiatives to budget and outputs.
  • Lead on prioritisation and trade-off discussions in Transformation roadmap and plans
  • Work in an integrated way with the NGV Business planning teams to ensure transformation initiative investments and outcomes are reflected in the Strategic Business Plan
  • Coach BU delivery teams in setting up and shaping their Transformation plans, metrics and reporting; consolidate reporting of all NGV transformation initiatives, linking with wider NG plc initiatives where appropriate

About you

  • Strategic thinking and leadership to align organization on strategic objectives 
  • Strategic business analysis, business architecture and facilitation experience 
  • Portfolio management qualification and/or relevant experience
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to identify, engage and influence all key stakeholders up to Executive level
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, including strong written and verbal communication ability.
  • Relevant experience in the area of business finance and demonstrated successful capability in financial management.
  • Management of Portfolios (MoP), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), PRINCE 2

What we can offer you

A competitive salary of circa £80,000 per annum – dependent on capability and experience. 

As part of our hybrid and flexible working approach permanent role offers a mix of office working in our Warwick or London offices and home working. We can also offer some flexibility in terms of hours/times. 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
