National Grid is hiring a Technical Administrator for our Customer and Network Development team based in Warwick.
About the role
As a Technical Administrator you will provide support to our Power Quality & Dynamic Performance and Data & Modelling Teams on all their power quality and network modelling data activities.
The key priority in this role is to support the Network Development Manager in technical administration activities through the ownership of key performance data reporting and communication activities.
What you'll do
- Ensure timely provision of power quality background measurements by managing the installation of power quality monitors and retrieval of data in collaboration with authorised site personnel.
- Ensure that the available fleet of temporary monitors is maintained in a good working condition.
- Support maintenance of customer compliance trackers to provide visibility to Power System Engineers about outstanding compliance activities for customer projects.
- Provide support to Power System Engineers by maintaining good records of historic energy data.
- Monitor data exchange mailboxes and ensure that queries are resolved by Power System Engineers.
- Produce, collate and coordinate team performance data in collaboration with senior members of the team for use by the Network Development Manager.
- Perform the role of technical secretary for specific Network Development meetings (Network Development management / management & staff meetings), tracking queries and actions via their owners to satisfactory completion.
What you'll need
- The ability to use desktop software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) to coordinate and present management information in numerical, graphical and written formats. Also able to use packages to generate reports and interrogate data (pivot tables).
- Ability to interpret engineering technical diagrams and data.
- Knowledgeable of; purchase order creation and management, delegations of financial authority, and single sourcing processes.
- Proven experience of internal and external customer / stakeholder co-ordination management
- Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate issues and their resolution Demonstrable ability to multi task and prioritise workloads in a high paced environment and to tight deadlines
- Excellent IT skills for data management and process improvement
- Good understanding of National Grid safety rules.
- An appreciation and knowledge of the UK Electricity Transmission system, its comprising assets and their functions.
