Start here and get your career off to a brilliant start on our 18-month graduate programme! Open to you if you have recently graduated or looking for a change and ready to embark on a rewarding career.​

Join our exciting graduate programme, designed for those interested in pursuing careers in Power Systems Engineering, Business Operations, Commercial, Digital Data or Technology. Whether you’re a data whizz or more interested in the commercial side of business, you’ll get hands-on, insightful experiences across different business areas.

  • Our 18-month rotational graduate programme runs from September each year, and takes the form of 3 six month placements into different functions, and consists of 3 key parts.​

    • Placements (70%) – Real-world, immersive experience through working in different teams​
    • Formal Training (20%) – Structured training sessions to boost your technical skills​
    • Personal Development (10%) – Opportunities for self-development and personal growth​

    Our programme will provide excellent opportunities to develop your career within a friendly, supportive working environment, as well as giving you the option to pursue a professional qualifications or charterships with a professional body i.e. Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET).

Undergraduates – Industrial Placements

Are you ready for a challenge? Do you want to tackle some of the energy industry’s big problems, during your placement year at University?​

Our 12-month industrial placements start in July each year and are designed to set you up for a life time of success whilst giving you practical hands on experience, they will give you a glimpse into our world and give you the chance to put the theory you’ve learnt at university into practice.

  • From day one you will be surrounded by a dedicated team that care about your development, a place where you will not only apply your learning but somewhere that will open your mind to the future of clean energy, and what you can do to ensure Net Zero is achieved.​

    We have opportunities in Engineering, Business Operations, Commercial, Digital Data or Technology. We will assist you to develop both personally and professionally. To top it off, if your skills and enthusiasm shine through, you could earn yourself a place on our graduate programme!​

Undergraduates – Student Placements ​ (Power Academy)

Do you want to use your summer to harness your future, work on exciting engineering projects, which are helping to achieve the challenge of Net Zero? Then a placement on the Power Academy is for you!

  • Working in partnership with the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), our Power Academy internship offers an immersive experience into the world of the power industry. Power Academy kick starts your career to become the engineer our future industry needs.​

    During this 8-week programme, you will be supported by a dedicated team, given innovative projects whilst obtaining hands on work experience. You’ll learn what it is like to work in the energy industry and, you could earn yourself a place on our graduate programme!​

Working in partnership with the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), our Power Academy internship offers an immersive experience into the world of the power industry. Power Academy kick starts your career to become the engineer our future industry needs.​

During this 8-week programme, you will be supported by a dedicated team, given innovative projects whilst obtaining hands on work experience. You’ll learn what it is like to work in the energy industry and, you could earn yourself a place on our graduate programme!​

You're eligible if you're in any new year (except final year) of an IET-accredited MEng or BEng degree course in an electrical engineering discipline. You must also qualify for home / EU fees or have the right to live and work in the UK (This includes holding a UK or EU passport).

Sponsorship via the Power Academy includes:​

  • Bursary​
  • Book/software allowance ​
  • Paid eight week summer placement every year your degree ​

Power Academy students will automatically be considered for our graduate programmes, with interviews held at the beginning of the final year of your studies.​
