As a Connection Operations Team we guide customers on their journey to connect to the energy system, making it as easy as possible to navigate the route. We strive to deliver excellence by seeking, listening, and acting on feedback to drive continuous improvements to our ways of working and build trusted relationships with all.
As a Connections Contract Manager you will lead and manage the customer connections journey throughout the life of their project to deliver solutions that enable customers to connect to the GB electricity system in a timely manner aiding the transition to net zero, whilst exceeding customer expectations.
This role is based in Glasgow and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

• Experience of effectively dealing with customers leading to dispute resolution.
• Experience in simultaneously managing multiple projects, all to a high standard.
• Ability to understand complex issues and offer users viable solutions, considering impact on the electricity system.
• Ability to explain complex contractual issues to customers in simple terms.
• Established links across ESO to ensure any interdependencies on projects is understood and explained to the end user.

About the National Energy System Operator (NESO)
In Autumn of 2024, the ESO transitioned to National Energy System Operator, or NESO for short. Previously denoted as the Future System Operator (or FSO), the new National Energy System Operator is the independent body responsible for planning Great Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system.
The ESO, including all of its existing roles, are now at the heart of the new National Energy System Operator. As NESO, we will build on our existing roles, capabilities, and ways of working significantly to create an organisation the energy system and its users’ need. Our new capabilities will enable us to look across vectors, including electricity, natural gas and hydrogen, and crucially consider the trade-offs between them.
The organisation is set up as a public corporation with its own Board of independent directors, with complete operational independence from government, the regulator and any and all commercial interest. As was the ESO, NESO will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements and obligated to identify optimal solutions to system operations and planning in the most sustainable, affordable and secure way for all.

What you'll get
A competitive salary between £45000 – 56000 p.a.– dependent on experience and capability.

Key Accountabilities
• Effectively co-ordinate cross-functional project teams and external customers and stakeholders, including Transmission Owners, Distribution Owners and Developers, to deliver and maintain customer compliance and connection projects in a timely manner and in line with the contractual framework and industry codes (Grid Code, STC, BSC).
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers across a portfolio of complex projects, to deliver value and ensure future compliance is achieved, all technical requirements are met and stability of the system is maintained.
• Anticipating customers queries and pro-actively resolving issues swiftly and in full.
• Accurately record and effectively manage data in all appropriate systems, ensuring compliance with licence, industry codes and GDPR.
• Deliver seamless and efficient services both internally and externally for our customers and stakeholders.
